Many people have longed to visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This idea is great and can be fun for the entire family. However, there are more cities in the state of Florida, which have some great excitement and fun that your family will also enjoy such as Miami,Orlando, Tampa, Daytona, the Space Coast, and Saint Augustine.
We will start in Orlando only because it has the most famous family and personal attractions in all of Florida. Not only does Orlando have Disney World, but it is home to Universal Studios. Universal Studios can take you behind the scenes of your favorite movie, or TV show. It also has rides and live shows; you can even see a movie crew in progress as they are filming.
In Tampa, Florida, there are attractions such as Bush Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Florida Aquarium, and much more. Bush Gardens is also the home to adventure camps, the Worlds of Discovery, Adventure Island, as well as Bush Gardens itself.
Next there is Daytona, Florida, where all the racing fans are familiar with the Daytona 500. However, there is also horse and dog racing in Daytona as well. Daytona Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world; and is home to Bike Week and Octoberfest. Daytona also has Adventure Landing Waterpark, where the family can have all sorts of fun.
The Space Coast is only 35 miles east of Orlando, located just outside of Titusville, Florida; and it is full of sandy beaches, the Space Center which is home to NASA, and the Kennedy Space Center. Here your family can visit the Space Museum and even have your picture taken in a space suit. Just outside of the Space Center is the Space Camp where children go to learn how the astronauts train for their missions.
The last city to talk about is the oldest city in the United States, Saint Augustine, Florida. In Saint Augustine, you can walk down St. George Street to see some of the oldest buildings from the old world. In fact there are many old buildings located all around the city. The family can see old forts, lookouts, and stores which look almost as they did back then. Like most of the cities you can take a romantic carriage ride around the city. You can also visit the Ripley s Believe It Or Not Museum.
Miami, Florida, offers some great bay cruises as well as other activities. You can take a trip through the everglades and visit Jungle Island, or Gator Park. There are a variety of wildlife shows and airboat rides. You can charter a boat and take a fishing trip in the saltwater or freshwater (brackish water) fishing in the everglades. You can take a relaxing day at one of the beaches in the area.
No matter which city in Florida you choose to take your vacation, you can always find cruises to take; whether the cruise is for sightseeing or a saltwater fishing tour, you will have an unforgettable vacation experience. You can also learn to sail, or just take trip on the open water of the Atlantic Ocean.

Vietnam Travel - Tranquil Beaches by Winding Road
Nestled in a small hamlet between two passes named Lo Dieu, the beach of the same name in Hoai My Commune looks like a giant bow and its yellow sand tempts sea lovers to at least sit or lie leisurely on the beach or else jump into the turquoise waters.
As the beach is rather remote, it is quiet most the year round except for Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, when locals and visitors from Bong Son put on partieson the beach in the late afternoon to enjoy local foods and the joys of the biggest holiday of Vietnam.
We did not have any party during our visit to Lo Dieu Beach over the weekend as we arrived after breakfast and before noon, so it was not an appropriate time to have a party. Furthermore, we had a long way ahead and more beautiful beaches to explore.
We got into our hired nine-seat car after touching down on the sand and taking photos to move on to other unspoiled beaches along the way, a drive that put a few of our group to sleep. But, they were awakened when our car ran over some holes on some sections of the road.
After traveling more than 50 kilometers of rough road we reached Tan Thanh, a beach that can attract both sea lovers and those who are afraid of the scorching ocean side sun. Breezes from the ocean welcome all visitors.
Tan Thanh Beach is bounded by lines of pine trees, naturally creating a wonderful area for visitors to take a siesta or rest while listening to the gentle waves clapping against the shore and the bells hung on the cows and oxen grazing the weeds in the far distance.
For lovers of swimming in the sea, they cannot miss their chance at Tan Thanh Beach to cool down, shrug off the tiredness and be revitalized after hours of sitting in a car.
There are no showers here and some may be scared of not being able to rinse their skin with fresh water after the sea water. Never mind. A good towel and a change of clothes is enough to be comfortable on the way to Quy Nhon City for a proper bath.
Before leaving Tan Thanh, ask the locals to point out the mountain whose peak has a boulder that looks like a woman waiting for her husband. Visitors can see this landmark attraction even from the car on the way to Quy Nhon, the capital city of Binh Dinh Province.

Kruger National Park
South Africa has dedicated more than three million hectares of its total land mass to the conservation of its natural heritage. You will see a great variety of habitats and wildlife when you visit these amazing sites.
The Kruger National Park was established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of South Africa. Most of the park is grass and bush covered plains. The border with Mozambique is marked by the Lebombo mountain range. Many rivers, like the Limpopo, Letaba, Olifants, Timbavati, Sabie and Crocodile River chop up theKruger National Park into territories.
Winter season in the Kruger Park is quite dry and rain is scarce. During this season, visitors will be able to spot the animals when they come to the waterholes in the mornings and evenings. Summer is the rainy season in Kruger Park and the rains fill the rivers and waterholes, and the bushveld looks lush.
Surrounding the Kruger National Park are several smaller game reserves. Until about a decade ago, these were all fenced off from the main park. With the removal of the fences, the park was increased in size by about 15 percent. Since there are no longer fences separating the reserves from the Kruger, it effectively creates one huge, continuous reserve area across whichthe animals are free to roam.
The Kruger National Park can be divided into three sections: the south, central and the north. The South, which is also known as the hill country of theKruger National Park has easy access and a large number of camps and game drives. Central consists of open grassy plains, roamed by the large predators and herds. The North is a more remote part of theKruger National Park, and thus offers more rest. It consists of mopane plains.
The best time to go game viewing in the park is in the early morning or late evening. In the summer time it gets really hot and the animals will generally hide in the shade of trees. In the winter time it hardly rains at all and quite a few of the waterholes dry up, upping your chances of spotting the more elusive animals when they come to drink.
Although there was a game drive just after lunch, Ryno refused to sit in an open 4x4 in the midst of the hot weather, so we opted for the drive at dusk. I didn't blame him, because although I couldn't wait to go into the bushveld for some game-viewing, dusk has always been my favourite time of day and the weather was taking some time getting used to.
Even though thunder is scary, the voice of God as some would call it, I find it soothing. Obviously not when the lightning strikes right at your side, but when you hear the rumbling thunder in the distance, muffled rain falling on the roof as in the hut's case it was thatch. It is then that you experience certain calmness.
After a hearty breakfast, we set off on our first walk. While walking on at a comfortable pace, our guide shared with us his extraordinary knowledge of the bushveld culture, identifying everything from the names of the grasses, to the local folk lore and medicinal uses of some of the plants.
Global warming, carbon emissions mingled with a singular disregard for Mother Nature have turned full circle at Wilderness Safaris. Folks who through their personal experience have a fierce conviction that we can make the difference, can counter the effects of modern living and through a partnership with Mother Nature, create utopia.

Shangri-la is one of the most beautiful scenic spots in China, but there has lots of difference between Shangri-la and other scenic spots. So if you visit to China, Shangri-la is the place where you have to go to experience the magnificent scenery.

In the novel "Lost Horizon", an English diplomat Conway and his brother Gorge scattered the English citizens and helped them leave the dangerous region. On their way home, their plane was hijacked and fell down into the mountain in the Tibetan region. Some lucky survivors were taken to Shangri-la where Conway found lots of fantastic things in such a state founded nearly 200 years ago, in which the local people lived up to more than one hundred years old and lived peacefully and harmoniously with the other people, animals and everything here. The place was called "Shangri-La" by the local folks.
Shangri-la is the beginning of the dream, where show you the beautiful spots and everyone looks forward to. There is no pain, no sadness and full of miraculous. It is said that fairies had ever lived there. It is also the beginning of our dream.
An ancient city where is located in Shangri-la called “dukezong” by Tibetans, and it is base on the Shambhala ideal country in Buddhist Scriptures when people built it. “dukezong” is includes two meanings, one is that a castle is built on the stone, and the other is that moon city. Shambhala is not the place that everyone can come in for common people. So if you want to enter thisbeautiful you should cultivate your spirit. After you enter into this holy land you will find the snow mountain around you as a lotus and the people who lived there are very brilliant. Iceland Festive Holidays
Imagine it's Christmas Eve, and people up and down the UK are holding their breath that maybe, just maybe, this year might be the magical ‘White Christmas' they've been waiting for all these years.
But if you can't wait any longer for that ‘unique' Christmas or New Year then look no further than the middle of the North Atlantic and head for Iceland and a memorable Christmas holiday. Whilst the island might be better known as a summer destination, there is plenty to explore in the winter months too, and Iceland really comes alive for the festive celebrations.
Iceland's Christmas celebrations are centred around the remarkable ‘Yuletide Lads.' In the 13 days before Christmas, these mythical little fellows, set on making mischief, are said to come down from the hills and into towns and cities. In recent years, they seem to have mellowed - many children leave shoes in the window to find that one of the ‘lads' has left a present. Be careful though - they're not named ‘Sausage Stealer' and ‘Door Slammer' for nothing…
Reykjavik, the capital, comes alive for Christmas with lights festooned everywhere and a genuinely warm glow about the city. For special Christmas meals, abandon the traditional turkey and tuck into some of Iceland's famous seafood, freshly caught from the Atlantic and cooked to perfection. The city also plays host to a variety of choirs, and something musical appears round every corner. And not surprisingly the already famous nightlife kicks up a gear for the festive period. On the big day why not chill out - and warm up - in the rich mineral waters of the Blue Lagoon? It might not be a whiteChristmas, but it'll certainly be unforgettable.
When it comes to ringing in the New Year, Icelanders really know how to party. On New Year's Eve, enjoy a feast of Icelandic cuisine followed by a chance to view the city's fantastic fireworks - and if you are really lucky, you might get the opportunity to see nature's own light show, the northern lights. Once the clock strikes 12 it's time to get to Reykjavik's bars and clubs, never bigger nor better than on this special evening.
Some travel companies offer special tours to Iceland at this time of year, and with a host of excursions suitable for festive families or New Year night clubbers alike, these are well worth checking out.
Explore some festive breaks to Iceland with Discover the World, the leading specialist tour operator to Iceland.

Must see Majorca Attractions
Many people have heard of the great family holiday destination that is Majorca, but may not know about some of the great attractions the island has to offer. In this article we are going to look at some amazing places you can visit next time you are inMajorca.
The Beaches
It seems an obvious choice, but the beaches of Majorca really are one of the main attractions on the island. With over 300 days of sun a year, make sure you visit some of the main beaches in Magaluf, Palma Nova, Alcudia and PuertoPollenca.
Caves of Drach
There are many spectacular caves dotted around Majorca and one of the most stunning is the Caves of Drach at Portocristo. Adults and children alike will love seeing the four chambers and the thousands of stalactites that are impressively lit. A highlight of the cave tour, will no doubt be the gondolier boat ride on the underground lake.
City of Palma de Majorca
One of the only true cities in the Balearics, the city of Palma is very different from what you would expect. It has a much slower pace than most Spanish cities but has plenty to offer. The historic quarter has grand mansions dating back to the Renaissance and Baroque churches that make for a stunning backdrop to any stroll around the city. While walking around the city in the day is very enjoyable, during the night, the floodlit cathedral and palace are simply stunning to see.
Train from Palma to Soller
The train that leaves Palma and runs to Soller makes for a great day out. The train has been running this route since 1912 and takes an hour to reach its destination. Along the ride you will travel through stunning countryside, almost making you wish the ride wouldn't finish so quickly.

China on a Budget
If you wish to spend a holiday in the most populated country in the world, the good news is that you can enjoy your holiday at a price you can afford. If you are on a budget, which most of us are, then you will be able to work around that budget. If you wish to experience luxury hotels, then you will be well catered for as well, as there are first class international hotels available for the discerning. My wife and I travelled to China in June 2007 and we experienced a unique holiday for a price which did not break the bank.
Our trip involved the two largest cities in China, namely Shanghai and Beijing. We flew into Shanghai on the eighteenth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, not that anyone in China would remind you of the fact. We were lucky that our son was attending university in Shanghai and was able to meet us at the airport and ease us into our stay with small but vital pieces of information such as how to get money from an ATM at the airport and how to negotiate the streets of Shanghai without losing your life!
Our son had booked a hotel for us, so that was not an issue for us, and our hotel was comfortable and clean and cheap at about $40 Australian per night. Certainly you would be able to get cheaper accommodation than that even, butwe were happy with the quality and the position. Once we were shown how to navigate the subways of Shanghai we were able to find our way to all of the main attractions of the city, such as the Bund and the new part of Shanghai, namely Pudong, on the other side of the river. This part of the city is truly dazzling, and it accommodates three of the tallest structures in the world. The views from the top of this city are amazing, despite the constant smog which is a chronic problem in Shanghai and Beijing.
We were told that there are 12,000 buildings in Shanghai which are 18 stories or more tall! I believe it! The skyline is something to behold, and wherever you are in the city tall buildings are to be seen. This is something of a mixed blessing, as the newer parts of the city are truly spectacular, whereas much of the residential high-rise is no more attractive than in any other city in the world.
From Shanghai, we travelled by overnight train to Beijing. We were accommodated in a four berth sleeper which we shared with a Chinese woman who spoke little English and promptly nodded off to sleep not long after we left Shanghai. Upon arriving in Shanghai we needed to find our hotel which we had booked ahead, and we ran the gauntlet of marauding Beijing taxi drivers who made a series of outrageous quotes to get us to our destination. Eventually we chose to go with the least outrageous offer, which was still about 45 Yuan overpriced! At this stagewe were just relieved to be on our way to our hotel so we could settle in and get our bearings.
Our hotel turned out to be a little gem in terms of location and the friendliness of the staff. It was located in the middle of a Hutong (a traditional narrow Chinese street), and we just had to go out of the hotel entrance to find ourselves immersed in the traditional bustling lifestyle of Beijing street markets, shops, pedestrians, bicycles, and various types of motorized vehicles, all vying for the limited space available.
With a little guidance from the helpful hotel staff, we managed to more or less master the local bus service, and for the princely sum of 2 Yuan (about 30 cents)we were able to travel to most destinations within Beijing. Our hotel was located just around the corner from one of Beijing's many parks (namely Jingshan Park), and it was a joy to wander around and watch the locals play games and sing and dance and play musical instruments. In most western countries wandering around a park at night would be an invitation to a mugging: not here. In fact, at no stage in Beijing did we ever feel threatened, even though one evening we found ourselves walking around some pretty quiet streets late at night.
Also close to our hotel was the northern entrance to the Forbidden City. We spent a number of hours in this impressive complex of ancient buildings which housed Chinese Emperors and their entourages.
Of course, a trip to Beijing would be incomplete without visiting the Great Wall. We went to the Badaling section of wall which was awash with tourists, but was none the less impressive for that fact. Next time though, I think we may go to one of the slightly more remote and less popular sections.
We left China with a sense of having just scratched the surface of a complex and incredible country. We will return, to paraphrase MacArthur, and we look forward to seeing a little more of what this vast land has to offer.

Many rivers, like the Limpopo, Letaba, Olifants, Timbavati, Sabie and Crocodile River chop up the Kruger National Park into territories.
Since there are no longer fences separating the reserves from the Kruger, it effectively creates one huge, continuous reserve area across which the animals are free to roam.
The Kruger National Park can be divided into three sections: the south, central and the north. The South, which is also known as the hill country of the Kruger National Park has easy access and a large number of camps and game drives. Central consists of open grassy plains, roamed by the large predators and herds. The North is a more remote part of the Kruger National Park, and thus offers more rest.

How To Enjoy Your First Visit To Moscow, Russia
Embarking on your first trip to Moscow, Russia is in many respects like visiting any other world capital. Before leaving your home country, you have to make sure you have a visa. The easiest visa to obtain is a tourist visa. It will be approximately EUR100.
If you are a usual first time visitor and do not speak Russian, go through the "green channel" upon arrival in Moscow. If you need money, you can obtain it from an ATM on most any corner. It is safest to bring a combination of currency, credit and ATM cards. It is vital that you maintain your passport and hotel registration on your person always.
While Moscow has some pickpockets and other petty criminals, the usual crime rate is on par with that in any other major city or national capital. Wearing a money pocket that goes around your neck and beneath your clothing is a good choice for keeping your money and documents secure. Central Moscow is quite safe, but you should use the common sense precautions that you would take in any other major metropolis.
For exchanging currencies, exchange kiosks have more favorable exchange rates than the air terminal and hotel. Don't exchange all your cash at once. You could easily discover a more favorable exchange a little way down. You will have the easiest time exchanging U.S. dollars or Euros rather than lesser used currencies. It is a good idea to restrict the use of your credit cards to major retailers. You're safer using cash at local stores.
While there are innumerable things to see and do in Moscow, here are some.
The Moscow metro is highly recommended for traveling around Moscow on account of its reliability, cleanliness, and security. It is also an attraction in itself. One entry is only 5 rubles, and you get} a deeper discount with books of passes. The metro runs from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.. Many of the metro stations are structural works of art and are definitely worth visiting.
The new Tretyakov Gallery is located betwixt the Park Cultury and Octoberskya train stations, and facing Gorky Park. The exhibits rotate often, and the number of artworks is enormous. On the last weekend of each month, in the brick building on the other side of the grounds is a stone fair that occupies two complete floors of the building.
Between the Tretyakov Gallery and the river is a gated sculpture garden that costs 100 rubles but is a terrific value. It is full of sculptures that were unwanted in public places. They were collected here in the 1990s.
The Old Tretyakov Gallery at 10-12 Lavrushinskiy Pereulok contains works by the Russian masters from the 11th through the 20th centuries.
St. Basil's Cathedral was erected in the 1550s by Ivan the Terrible. Alongside Red Square, the cathedral has nine chapels, every one with its own unique dome.
And of course, you shouldn't miss Red Square. Surrounded by the Kremlin walls, Lenin's tomb, and the huge GUM department store along three faces, you can readily spend all day here.
You'll never run out of things to visit and do in Moscow, and by the time you're used to the layout of Moscow there is every reason you'll want to come back to Moscow again and again.

A Peaceful Holiday in Kalkan, Turkey
The hillside village of Kalkan, Turkey is a peaceful resort with an easy going atmosphere. This is a quiet Turkish retreat in a traditional town, suitable for couples wanting time alone. If you are looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of city life or even of other typical holiday destinations, then Kalkan holidays will be perfect for you.
If your idea of a perfect holiday is a beautiful view of the sun over the mountains and the sparkling blue sea beneath, then you will be at home in Kalkan.Turkey is a country that offers everything for the holidaymaker: a stunning landscape, long beaches, the excitement of water sports and nightlife, a rich and varied history, and a summery climate. All of these elements can be experienced within a short distance of the resort, but Kalkanholidays are on the relaxed side of things, making it a good place from which to pick and choose. Two of the best beaches in Turkey , Kaputas and Patara, are just twenty minutes from Kalkan, and there s a pebbly beach at the resort too. While this cannot rival the neighbouring beaches for long days of sunbathing on the sand, it is a remarkably picturesque spot, ideal for quiet contemplation.
Kalkan holidays are about absorbing some of the local flavour and the Mediterranean joie de vivre. You can explore the quaint town s cobbled lanes and snug, winding market streets leading down to the water. At the pale, sundrenched rocky shoreline you ll find turquoise shallows leading to the deep blue open sea. The harbour is the heart and soul of the town, with yachts and pleasure craft passing through as they tour the bay. You can embark on a gulet cruise of the local islands from the harbour.
To get the best of the landscape, you will want to take a walk into the hills during your Kalkan holidays; the further you venture up into the hills, the more you will be rewarded with amazing views overlooking the bay. The resort is located on a hillside with the popular destination of Olu Deniz an hour and a half up the coast to the North West, and the Greek island of Rhodes about a hundred kilometres across the sea. Kalkan isTurkey's southernmost town of the Turquoise Coast except for the neighbouring town of Ka& #351;, from where you can pick up a cruise excursion to see the underwater ruins at Kekova.
The town is intricate and colourful, with sloped streets and for the best view of Kalkan try dining in one of the many rooftop restaurants in the town, which serve fresh seafood dishes. If you intend to bring home souvenirs from your Kalkanholidays, there's plenty of window shopping to be done. The shops sell silver jewellery and locally made Turkish rugs, which decorate and line the alleyways of the town. Both are examples of the traditional local craftsmanship. There are planning restrictions in place to limit further development of the resort and preserve the authentic local character of the town.
You can enjoy the best of the Turquoise Coast region on holidays in Kalkan: Turkey's hot, dependable climate and some of the Mediterranean's most beautiful coastlines.

La Vanille: A Wildlife Paradise
Mauritius may be long associated with white sand beaches, turquoise waters and a perfect climate. However, the rainforest region in southern Mauritius is in complete contrast to this flawed schema. Here the rainfall is frequent and the vegetation is thick and dense, providing visitors on their holidays in Mauritius with a landscape that's slightly prehistoric in appearance, and that's before you've met the wildlife.
An untamed beauty is often how the Fame Fatal rainforest is described by those that have visited it on their Mauritius holidays. The description is spot on, and surely it,s not just coincidence that the name bears more than a passing resemble to a different type of predatory female. The Fame Fatal will certainly succeed in pulling you in and holding you enraptured on your holidays in Mauritius.
However, unlike the femme fatales, it is not the rainforest itself that is dangerous, but rather the exotic wildlife that make it their home. Fame Fatal is home to more than one thousand wild Nile crocodiles, the majority of which are located in the nature park at La Vanille. The park is within easy access of many of the larger hotels in southern Mauritius, including the Movenpick, Bel Ombre and Tamassa resorts. However, many of the larger Mauritius hotels in the north also run excursions toLa Vanille and the crocodile park.
The park runs through the famous Riviere des Anguilles, an environment which is just perfect for the Nile Crocodiles. All the crocodiles that you see originated from Madagascar and have now madethe park their home, with help from the giant bamboo and banana trees that provide the shade that they require. The park also has a number of smaller baby crocodiles and, under the guidance of a trained ranger; you can pose for photographs holding one in your arms.
Not everyone is enamoured with crocodiles, so instead you may want to visit the giant tortoises that make the park La Vanille, on the island their home. Mauritius holidays just aren't complete without catching a glimpse of some of the oldest tortoises in the world. However, the real star of the park is Domino, who is 90 years old and weighs 270kg.
La Vanille also contains some more unusual species that you may be lucky enough to spot on your Mauritius holidays. There are monkeys, fruit bats, wild pigs and even skunks, though you may not want to get too close to the latter!
The final building at La Vanille, the insectarium, is the lifetime work of Jacques Siedlecki. The insect fanatic has documented over 23,000 different species of insects from beautiful blue hued butterflies to hissing cockroaches and centipedes. On your holidays in Mauritius you will have the opportunity to question Mr Siedlecki on his strange obsession as it is he who takes you around the Insectarium and talks about all things insect related.
We imagine that you will have taken the opportunity to sample many traditional delicacies on your holidays in Mauritius, from the spicy Creole dishes served up by street sellers to the delicious Indian French cuisine dishes served up at many of the luxury Mauritius hotels. However, chances are you won't have tried traditional Mauritian food with a twist. The twist being crocodile meat! Crocodile meat tastes surprisingly like chicken and sampling it inLa Vanille's treetop restaurant, situated high in the rainforest canopy, is sure to provide a meal to remember on your Mauritius holiday.

Barcelona ; A Culinary Adventure
Barcelona: A Culinary Adventure
Barcelona, regarded as one of Europe's most visually stunning cities, is mostly associated with art and architecture. Barcelona is considered a place to go for a cultural experience. With culture comes food.
From 2005 to 2006 Barcelona commanded culinary respect when it hosted a 12 month celebration and exhibition of food. Since then, Barcelona has not been able to live down its reputation.
Barcelona features chefs from all over Spain and around the world, but an appreciation of two qualities , local and fresh, bind them together.
People in Barcelona love fish, rabbit, duck, lamb and natural ingredients such as mushrooms and herbs from the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. If you've never been able to tell when dishes are made from frozen ingredients, a visit toBarcelona will grant you the ability.
Barcelona's chefs have a signature style which is unique pairing. You will find menus with creative and tempting food couples such as duck and pears and goose with prunes. Fish with nuts is also popular.
Visitors usually find the combination of flavors quite irresistible. More than a few travelers overspend because they are enticed by food adventures. For many, the tasty budget busting is well worth it.
Advice Before You Go Out
Speaking of money, there are a few things to consider unless the number of euros you peel off doesn't concern you.
If you choose to eat in touristy places, you will eat like a tourist. That means you will get scanty portions of somewhat authentic and mediocre food.
Lunch, usually served from 2 to 4 p.m., is the locals. main meal of the day. If money and value concern you, it should be yours too. Most restaurants offer a menu of the day which may be one of the most delicious deals in Europe. Usually you get three generous courses including wine and coffee for only ,5.50 to 25.
Dinner in a restaurant may be something you wish to try for a night or two. If you plan to dine in restaurants every night, hopefully you are not a budget traveler.
People of Barcelona eat late and enjoy courses. Dinner rarely starts for locals before 9pm.
Don't be shocked to find that the portions are small, especially if you eat in a touristy restaurant. Usually items are a la carte. So you may find that you order a meat dish but vegetables, if desired, must be ordered separately. By the time you receive the bill, it can easily amount to ,55 or '60 per person.
To do as the locals do, in lieu of restaurants for dinner, you will choose tapas. If tapas had to be compared to something, fast food would probably be best. But the offerings are not burgers and fries.
Tapas are small portions of fresh foods that are prepared quickly. A delicious example is gambas ajillo (shrimp in garlic). Tapas dishes are not designed to get you full. And, the tapas experience is not meant to be had in single location. The idea is to have a dish or two in one place and continue to the next and the next until you have had your fill.
Breakfast in Barcelona is far from an extravagant affair. For most people, a cup of strong coffee will do. Sometimes locals go for bread or patisseries.
Specialties
Barcelona's diet is a healthy one which thrives on seafood, fibrous vegetables and red wine. But the three absolute musts in every kitchen are olive oil, tomatoes and garlic.
Fideua is a good example of how the popular ingredients merge. This dish is like a special Catalan paella. It is cooked in a large flat pan with olive oil, shellfish, poultry, meat and vegetables. The unique twist is that skinny noodles replace rice.
Mar i muntanya (sea and mountain) is a specialty dish which is hard to hide from. In Barcelona, chefs have their own method of surf and turf. It is not merely the predictable steak and shrimp that most Americans know. Sea and mountain pairs game with seafood. So you may well find at your fingertips a platter of rabbit with prawns or meatballs with cuttlefish.
Pa amb tomaquet is thick rustic bread doused with olive oil and rubbed with garlic and tomatoes topped by a pinch of salt. This is a Catalan staple that is delicious anytime.
Espinacas a la Catalana is spinach made divine by cooking it in olive oil, with garlic, pine nuts, raisins and sometimes bacon bits.
Additionally, there are five sauces that lie at heart of Catalan cuisine:
Sofregit consists of fried onions, tomato and garlic.
Samfaina is sofregit with red pepper and eggplant.
Picada has a base of ground almonds accompanied by garlic, parsley, pine or hazel nuts, and usually breadcrumbs.
Allioli is pure garlic and virgin olive oil whipped into a mayo that you will find served with potatoes and vegetables.
Romesco consists of almonds, tomato, olive oil, garlic and vinegar. This sauce is sometimes used as salad dressing.
Drinking
Barcelona's cuisine is most often complimented with robust Catalan wines from the Pendes region. While you may enjoy the chase of hunting down a nice red wine, white wines are almost always better. Most popular is cava, a local sparkling white wine.
Sangria is also popular. Some restaurants place jugs of it on the tables. This drink is usually made with wine and fruit punch. But be careful. Sometimes sangria is laced with brandy. For those who aren't accustomed to the mixture, the end results can be heavy.
Estrella Damm is a local beer that has several varieties. If you are going for potency, you'll want Voll Damm. If you want to experiment with your brew, order a clara, which is beer with a generous splash of lemonade.
Bars, cafes, tapas, whiskerias (singles bars filled with professional escorts) xampanyerias (cava bars), restaurants and beer halls, each of these places have their own styles and offerings. InBarcelona, you won't go hungry or thirsty. And you won't be able to stick to a diet either.
Located in the Sants Montjuic district of Barcelona, the Mossen Costa i Llobera Garden is considered by many to be one of the most important succulent plant gardens in the world. Dedicated to cacti and other tropical plants from as far away as Ethiopia, Kenya, and Mexico, the garden offers a range of scenery unlike anywhere else in the area.
Mossen Cinto Verdaguer Garden
The Mossen Cinto Verdaguer Garden, which is also located in the Sants Montjuic district, is known for its beauty and tranquility. Dedicated to aquatic, bulb, and rhizome plants, the garden showcases outstanding planning based on color and height, with extra consideration given to the blooming period of each species. The best time to visit is from March to April or July to September when the garden is in full bloom.
With so many beautiful gardens to see in Barcelona, it can be hard deciding on which ones to visit. For a unique experience, consider going to one of the city's thematic gardens. With a different theme featured in each of the three locations, you can witness spectacular sights unlike anything else in the city.

Top 3 Dive Sites in Mauritius
Mauritius, an emerald jewel in the Indian Ocean, attracts large numbers of holidaymakers who flock there for the sun, sea and silvery sands. But increasingly, the hotels in Mauritius are playing host to visitors looking for a different kind of s scuba diving!
The warm waters that lap the islands shores are popular with underwater fans of all levels who enjoy year round diving holidays inMauritius . A coral reef extends around the entire island creating an enchanting, underwater playground. If you are a beginner, you can explore the shallows close to shore, and mosthotels in Mauritius will offer an expert to guide you through your dive. The more adventurous underwater explorer can head out to one of the many wrecks or caves around the island.
The Cathedral
This popular site is located off the Flic en Flac on the western coast of Mauritius and is definitely a must visit site on your diving holiday to Mauritius. The dive begins at 18m, then drops very sharply to nearly 30m. Although the bottom is quite sandy and bare, along the cracks and crevices of the chamber you can make the acquaintance of an abundance of marine life characters. You may brush shoulders with Gropers, Wrasse, Sweetlip, Angelfish and Clownfish. You will see scores of shrimp and crayfish on the move as well perhaps enjoying their own holidays inMauritius ! The dive narrows along a kind of chute and then opens out into a large cathedral like cavern illuminated by filtered sunlight. The diffused light gives the site an almost ethereal aura, but beware of the giant Moray Eel that dwells in the dark recesses of the cave!
Rempart Serpent
It is easy to see how this unusual site got its name. Literally translating to Snake Reef, this incredible rocky pocket is over 100m long. As its mesmerising blanket of seaweed bends and sways in the slow moving waters, it resembles a slow moving snake sliding across the ocean floor. Strangely barren looking, Rempart Serpent is not only home to the usual brightly coloured tropical fish, but also home to huge numbers of sinister looking stonefish, scorpion fish, lionfish and Moray Eels. Mosthotels in Mauritius will arrange diving excursions to this unique site under the guidance of a knowledgeable marine expert.
Stella Maru
Any diving holiday in Mauritius should include an expedition to at least one wreck site. The waters around the island are home to many easily accessible wrecks, but one of the most striking is that of the Stella Maru, at Trou aux Biches on the North West coast. Resting at a depth of around 25m, the Stella Maru is an old Japanese trawler sent to a watery grave in 1987. Although sunk on her side, her huge bulk now sits upright on the ocean floor after a massive cyclone in 2002. Relatively intact, the Stella Maru is an imposing sight, made all the more dramatic by the vibrant surrounding coral and hordes of exotic tropical fish darting by. Huge Moray eels have also made their home in its bulkhead. This is a particularly good site for keen underwater photographers looking to capture some amazing images while on their holidays toMauritius.

Coach Hire Holiday to Paradise
The last holiday I took was a big success with a capital B. Forget Heathrow and the M25, think Somerset, cream tea and fresh air. My Beautiful coach holiday started on Sunday morning at the beginning of the Easter break. It started well, the pickup was right on time and local to where I live with my partner in Lewis. The coach driver opened the coach door and smiled a welcoming smile. He introduced himself Nigel, and then unhurriedly took out luggage and stowed it in the boot. As it happens we were the last pickup and so it was off onto the motorway.
The Coach was smart and airy, the seats comfortable and adaptable, which was a great relief for my partner Jon with his back. He was also glad of the extra leg room wed requested on booking the seats. So that was the start of a very enjoyable day. Usually when it comes to traveling we are both stressed and bickering by mid morning. As we had nothing to do but relax and look at the view, that is exactly what we did. It made a refreshing change for both of us letthe coach take the strain, to miss quote a well worn expression. The coach was filled to capacity and felt roomy and spacious. Our seats had places to put our drinks and snacks. We were able to control our own air conditioning controls. Very useful when the sun was shining on Jon and I was in the shade (we were taking turns sitting in the window seat.
Nigel had done his homework and we had no hold ups on route, we had a coffee break at the Reading services and were quickly on our way. We got to the first hotel in Cheddar by tea time. The hotel we were staying had been two substantial cottages which had at sometime in their history, been combined into one. It was so beautiful, well kept and intelligently modified to make it comfortable without loosing that feeling of history. Full of energy and a gorgeouscream tea we coach travelers all took our own routes for the evening. Jon and I choose to walk to the Gorge which was only a moderate walk away. The shadows slowly lengthened and a feeling of peace and well being wrapped itself around us like a blanket. We strolled, arm in arm back to our small hotel feeling a gorgeous feeling of optimism.
Our holiday continued on in this vain for the whole idyllic week. We had had the choice on booking to coach holiday to do some day trips. We did do two, one to the moors and one to Minehead. The moors are like no where else in England, you could be in any century. Theres no sound, apart from the wind and your breath when youre struggling up a gradient. The hotel had provided a local guide together with an enormous, tasty picnic. Both were much appreciated.
The Minehead day trip by coach was a great laugh. We had been able to time our trip to coincide with the Wassail, a ceremony that the locals perform every May Day. Its an ancient ceremony performed to ensure good crops and the reenactment was done with great aplomb by the participants.
The coach journey home was as expected, pleasant and with no drama. The restful feeling was kept until the last. We couldnt thank Nigel more. He was calm, professional and an excellent

11 Tips to Make Traveling Fun
Packing a bag and hitting the road with family is always a fun and exciting adventure. It’s also a great way to spend quality time with your loved ones that seems harder and harder to come by these days.
Whether you are renting an RV for a cross-country trip or you are catching a flight to a far-off destination, it is always best to plan ahead. People are used to making lists – of what clothes, personal items, books, medicine, etc., to pack – to ensure that the trip starts smoothly. But here we have a list for you to read, of 11 tips that may help the family trip go smoothly from start to finish.
1. Allow your family, especially the kids, to help plan the trip. This can be fun for the entire family to be involved in, and starts things out with a common effort toward a common goal.
2. Have both a travel itinerary and an activity itinerary. The first one, of course, tells you where your flight departs from or what roads you’ll be driving. The latter is just a simple list of activities that you and your family plan on doing after you arrive. It can help things go a little smoother at times, especially if you are able to choose from several different activities for each day.
3. Bring a snack or picnic lunch if you’re traveling on the road. All parents know that kids can get hungry fast. Bringing snacks and drinks can assure you that they won’t be hungry. It is also nice to stop off at a park or rest stop and have a picnic lunch together outside.
4. Packing your luggage the night before you leave may not sound like fun. But packing ahead of time is essential, especially with kids, and getting them involved in the packing is what can make it fun (particularly for them). Packing the night before the trip will help you to remember what you need, and making a list beforehand of items that you will need to bring also speeds the process.
5. Bring lots of activities for long road trips or flights, as these can be boring for anyone, and again, especially for the kids. Puzzles, magazines, coloring books and/or a CD or DVD player can help ease the tension of a long trip.
6. Stop along the way. Take some time out to stop along the way at some of the sites that you are sure to pass on your adventuresome road trip. Depending on where you are, and if you’re driving through new and fascinating territory, this can be very exciting for the entire family. Don’t forget to take pictures of any famous or unique landmarks or scenery, which leads to the next point.
7. Take lots of photos, period. Taking pictures on your trip will capture memories that will last a lifetime, and it’s great fun, too. Allow your entire family to be involved in the picture taking (yes, even the kids). This way they have the opportunity to capture some of the excitement on film, too. If you also bring a video camera, you can teach your children the proper way to use it and that will make them feel more involved. And don’t forget to ham it up and mug for the camera!
8. Why not take the train? If you’re traveling with children, a train might be a better choice than either a car or a plane. Everyone knows how confined an airplane can be. When it comes to kids, they like as much freedom to move as possible. A train can provide a comfortable, safe and roomy way for the whole family to travel, and it’s a rare adventure these days.
9. Research your trip and destination on the Internet. Doing some research before the trip can be a time-saver. If you have teenagers that love to be on the Internet, have them take some time to research your destination. This will give them some useful knowledge of the place, as well as make them feel like they are helping with the trip planning. It will also be fun for them to be the “expert” upon your arrival, teaching the rest of the family what they found out.
10. Booking child-friendly accommodations will allow you to use all the other ideas you’ve developed with the help of this article. If you plan to stay in a hotel at your flight destination, or one or more along the way on a road trip, find out what activities are available for your children. Check on spas and other services for yourself, too, since you will want to have fun, also.
11. Finally, if you expect the unexpected, and prepare for adversity, you will not allow unforeseen events to spoil your fun. You never know what you might be getting into when planning a vacation, as there are so many things to consider. Using these tips can help your vacation be a successful one, just as following a simple list can make a huge difference. Think of as many details as possible, from extra batteries and a first-aid kit to plastic garbage bags for dirty laundry and a couple of rolls of quarters for video game arcades.
In addition to these 11 tips, it is also recommended that a good vacation plan include a budget, preferably one that will be paid for with money that was put away just for this purpose. Saving up for the trip is also something that the whole family can get behind, and even make enjoyable. You can set up a common savings jar at home, or one for each child so they can compete with their nickels and dimes. Both kids and parents can contribute, and the smallest bit pocket change can help build a healthy vacation fund.
Although tedious at times, traveling is also very exciting and a source of great, good fun for the entire family. This is true before, during and even after the vacation. You have seen how fun it can be to plan and save for the vacation beforehand, and during the trip you can all get to know one another better while having fun with both planned and unplanned activities. And finally, after your vacation, you will bring home pictures, souvenirs, stories and some great memories to share with others.Tag My Bags is a supplier of personalized luggage tags online. The holidays are for kids and families, first of all, so there will be some ideas on how to have fun and enjoy other. Vacation and travel tips
Here are the best six tips for setting up a holiday vacation of a lifetime:
Stop searching and be found – The advent of RSS (Real Simple Syndication) news feeds means that news, information and web resources will be sent to you by subscription. When you find a great source for tickets, lodging or vacation packages, look for the small, orange, square button in your browser toolbar, or search the site for “RSS,” then click and set up your “feed.” In Internet Explorer, your feeds can be found in your IE favorites area.
Let your email help – These same sites may also send regular newsletter or sales announcements by email, and sites without RSS will normally offer this service. Subscribe to some good, reputable sites and the information will be delivered to you daily, weekly or (sometimes) on a schedule of your choosing.
Comparison shopping – There are various sites, like traveljungle.com or travelsupermarket.com, where you can compare offerings from travel agencies and brokers from around the world. That holiday vacation of a lifetime just might be part of a package deal that you will find this way.
Forget the hotel bill – The less you spend on accommodations, the more you can spend skiing or sailing or trekking around the island of Malta. If “home exchange” sounds like a strange concept to you, do some Googling and you will discover that it is a low-cost way for travelers to trade their house in New Jersey for a small villa in Spain. Homes can even come with a car, or household help, as part of a package deal, so check on this option carefully at such websites as Digsville. This site, like similar ones, has listings around the world. A beachfront bungalow in the South Pacific, a ranch home in the wilds of Australia or an apartment in central Tokyo can be yours with the right trade, the right timing and the right arrangements.
Skip the driving – If you're going to vacation in a big city, you can probably have a great time without a car. Driving a car overseas can be stressful and public transportation, bikes and taxis are all possible replacements. This is also a good way to “go native” and see how the locals really live day to day.
Discount dining – If your vacation trip will be a few weeks or more, consider preparing some of your own meals. You can save a good deal of money since eating out three times a day can add up quickly. Shopping at local markets and food stores is also a fabulous way to learn the language, interact with the local culture and meet the “real people” of the country, instead of the country’s tourism professionals.
Family holiday tips
There are more ways to create a memorable holiday season than traveling. Staying home and enjoying family is always a popular holiday plan. Here are some interesting tips on creating a holiday to remember.
Create gift certificates – You can make your own gift certificates to give people what they really want, or really need. Try giving a coworker a certificate for a home-cooked meal, or gift certificate of babysitting so a friend or family member can enjoy a day or night off. For children, you can make gift cards for family bike rides, board game tournaments or breakfast in bed. Not only are these gifts cost-effective, they promote the bonds of friendship, and isn’t that a great gift?
Turn on the tunes – After a holiday dinner, you can work off some of the pumpkin pie by dancing as a group, playing musical chairs or having “the youngsters” show the “old timers” all the new dance steps. Conversely, parents can teach their children the dance steps that were popular in “the old days.”
Energetic kid stuff – You can design a family “obstacle course” in the back yard that could include hula hoops, calisthenics, jumping jacks and other activities. No one has to compete with anyone else, it can just be for fun – as well as some great photo opportunities.
Walk together for a good cause – Find a charity walk-a-thon to join together, as a couple, a family or even in a neighborhood contingent. If you find an event a few months into the New Year, it can help participants stay motivated on their New Year's Resolutions.
Healthy cooking feast – Get the family and/or a group of friends together for a healthy holiday meal, where everyone can participate in making the holiday feast. You can enjoy a party atmosphere while learning healthy new recipes for the New Year.
Stories, new and old – Sit together around a fireplace, or the after-dinner table, and have everyone tell a personal story with a holiday theme. Even better, talk about the stories that you are creating that very day, and imagine how it will be 10 or 15 years hence to talk about this particular night.
It’s all about people
The holidays do not have to be an over-commercialized nightmare of buying, wrapping, giving and getting presents. Not all gifts come in packages, and people of all ages can stand to learn this lesson again, even if for the 100th time: Holidays are about people, the people you live with, love and would miss if they moved (or passed) away.
Be grateful for family, friends and community during the holidays. Whether you travel to the Bahamas, or no farther than your living room, what matters is being grateful for the time together and using it to best advantage. Be slow to anger, quick to forgive and ready to do a kindness, and your holidays will be special whether you have a dollar or a million of them. Remember what is truly valuable, and you will keep things in their proper perspective.
Tourabout.com empowers your search of thousands of all inclusive vacations from the world's best vacation destinations. Visit us online and you won't need to spend hours searching dozens of websites to find the trip you’re looking for.

Choosing The Right Travel Company To Find The Right Vacation For You
You can count on spending a good deal of time and attending to a long list of details when you are planning any vacation. Besides the fact that you need to book flights or other transportation, and find room to pack all those “must-have” items, you need to figure out exactly what you’re going to do on that perfect vacation.
That’s where travel companies come into play. Travel companies can arrange all the details and get you to the right destination for the right price based on the specific details you give them. Naturally, doing the usual “comparison shopping” research before choosing a travel agent or company can pay off for you in a big way.
Using a travel agent or firm can even eliminate the hassle of deciding where to go if you can’t make up your mind. Why not let an expert put the time into finding the right location by researching different places, as well as helping you to get the best deals that you might not know how to make for yourself? Due to the fact that they do this for a living, good travel agents have contacts with other people in the same industry all over the world.
Just their professional planning skills alone make agents valuable, and their experience and contacts help them get lower prices than you could yourself. They can save you money on hotels, get special tour deals, arrange for vegetarian and other special menus, and get you where you're going with cheaper flights and even discount cruises. Experience travel planners know how to get first-rate travel, accommodations and service at a discount because it is their job to do so. They also know that establishing a good relationship with you, the customer, can bring them additional business in the future, from referrals as well as your own next vacation.
It’s always best not to go for the first travel company that you come across. Do your homework on this to find out if the company comes recommended by others that have used them before. Ask around and check with friends and family that might have used a particular travel agent or company, and read the travel section of a big-city newspaper to find any possible tips or suggestions.
The Internet is also a great tool to use when searching for a travel company, of course. Make sure to check in with the various travel forums and websites and keep an eye out for satisfied customers talking about the best agents and firms. It is important to establish a good working relationship quickly, and discuss your plans with someone that is easy to talk to. Communication is key and you must ensure that whoever helps you plan your trip understands what your goals (and dreams) are. When you find such a person and establish a candid relationship, you may just have found someone to help you again and again over the years.
When looking for a travel company or agent it is a good idea to search for an American Society of Travel Agents ASTA) member. This is an organization that is, in fact, a sort of cooperative “network” of travel-related businesses from all parts of the country and all niches of the travel industry. It includes not only agents and brokers, but airlines, cruise lines, hotels and concierge (personal service) firms. ASTA members can handle your vacation with a quality and professionalism that is unsurpassed. Relying on one of these professionals is a great way to reassure yourself that your vacation will go smoothly, and the ASTA connection ensures a certain level of expertise (and ethics). The ASTA will also respond quickly to any complaints about its members, so you have protection there, as well.
Remember, it is not just “okay,” but expected, for you to have questions. After all, it’s your money and vacation that are at risk. If you have found the right travel company, they will have all the right answers for you or know how to get them. Some companies even offer you the opportunity to speak with some of their past customers, whose experiences can give you valuable insight as to what you can expect with the firm.
Your travel company should always invest its full attention to the details of planning the right vacation for you and your family. Though the travel company should, first and foremost, attend to the numerous details of transportation and lodging traveling, you should always discuss the “little things” about the vacation you’re planning. Anyone helping you plan a “dream getaway” will need to know exactly what you like and what you don’t, and no issue is too small to mention. This kind of open and honest communication not only makes the planning a good experience, but will likely result in a vacation that is cost-effective, custom-tailored to your exact needs – and memorable, as well.

Top 10 All-Inclusive Vacation Destinations
Any kind of "top 10" list is bound to be subjective. There's no way around it. It is impossible to account for everyone's tastes and address every possible variable of a vacation and a resort. However, the following "Top 10 All-Inclusive Vacation Destinations" turn up again and again in listings on the Internet and in travel magazines, too. To make sure you are making the right choice, you should talk to as many people as you can who have actually been to the resort you are considering.
The idea of all-inclusive vacations is not that old, but it has caught on like wildfire because it takes much of the worry out of trip planning. It is not likely you could put together a vacation package for less than the "all inclusives" charge, but not everyone goes this route to save money. The high-end resorts of the all-inclusive variety are pricey, but there are also some bargains to be bad if you do not expect five-star amenities at three- or four-star prices. The following are not in any particular order, but many are clustered in the Caribbean because of its longstanding popularity.
1. Goldeneye Resort, St. Mary, Jamaica: James Bond fans have made the Goldeneye a top pick in many resort listings. This Jamaican retreat was built by Bond novelist Ian Fleming in the 1950s and he is said to have written 14 of his "007" thrillers there. The "short report" on Goldeneye is that it is "a magical place" that provides simple luxury along with carefree, casual comfort. Many celebrities flock to this spot for the privacy, and Goldeneye’s main beach is clean, uncrowded and private with fluffy white sand and warm, crystalline waters. The 007 cachet, great privacy, good food and fabulous grounds combine to make Goldeneye a favorite all-inclusive resort.
2. Sandals Royal Bahamian, Bahamas: As a chain, the Sandals Resorts have been voted "World's Best" for the past 10+ years by travel professionals worldwide. Many longtime travel agents, who should know, believe that Sandals does "all-inclusive" better than anyone, and they should – they invented it. Sandals does everything with an unsurpassed emphasis on quality, so it is by no means a "budget" destination. This particular Sandals resort – with its offshore island, eight restaurants, seven pools, valet service and Rolls-Royce airport shuttles – will meet the demands of the most discriminating travelers.
3. Sandals Antigua Resort & Spa, Antigua: Situated on Dickenson Bay, the island's premier (and most famous) beach, this is the chain's "romantic getaway." It offers Caribbean village charm plus the refinement and luxury of a world-class, all-inclusive resort, and was voted the "World's Leading Honeymoon Resort" for four straight years. Crystal clear air and winding paths welcome you to hidden hammocks for the happy twosome.
4. Secrets Excellence, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Situated far from city crowds on a remote portion of Caribbean shoreline – in its own palm tree forest, no less – Secrets Excellence has everything from live stage shows, hot and happy Latin American music for dancing, a casino and horseback rides on the beach. It is perhaps the perfect adult playground, with two giant pools featuring swim-up bars a world-class spa/fitness center for workouts or relaxing massages. The resort is an adults only destination with a perfect beach and plenty to do – or not.
5. Gala Resort, Mayan Riviera, Mexico: This classically Mexican getaway is truly different, unique in every way, and proud of it. Gala offers an unparalleled vacation adventure, and its staff is committed to your enjoying your stay beyond all expectations. Featuring deluxe accommodations, attentive service, superlative dining, and activities for guests of all ages, the Gala Resort is a world-class destination that will be everything you expect, and probably more.
6. Beaches Negril, Negril, Jamaica: Set on 20 lush, jasmine-scented acres, on a prime stretch of Negril's world-famous, seven-mile beach, this resort is both charmed and charming. You are immediately enveloped in the awesome natural splendor, and when you factor in the gourmet dining, creative activities and first-class amenities, you just might think you've found paradise on earth.
7. Franklyn D Resort, Runaway Bay, Jamaica: The Franklyn D Resort wins many recommendations based on its family-friendly atmosphere and layout. This, in fact, is the resort that invented the "vacation nanny," who will look after you, your kids and your suite. The "FDR" is small and intimate, while still offering every amenity and doing so in a world-class manner. The resort has a special kids' buffet, decent adult food, an average beach and modest suite furnishings. In many visitors' opinions, the vacation nanny and staff make up for any and all shortcomings.
8. Royal Hideaway, Playacar, Mexico: This is a small gem of a resort with just 178 rooms, but there is a full activities program on a gorgeous, first-class property. Six restaurants, complete concierge service and doting poolside attendants bring a touch of luxury to the surroundings, and the champagne at check-in time signals you are in the right place. The stunning beach and the "seriously five-star" food service round out the attractions. "Classy and relaxing" is the way one reviewer described it. Although the whole family is welcome, the resort does cater to couples.
9. Harmony Club, Bermuda: The traditional Bermudan "cottage-style" architecture communicates intimacy at this private country resort. In a fabulous setting of exquisite gardens, this classic resort is near Bermuda's famed beaches, accessible to Hamilton's shops and nightspots, and boasts an abundance of elegance and a complete list of the expected amenities. Not too large, not too small, many guests have concluded that Harmony Club is "just right."
10. Iberostar Bavaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: This is another all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with high ratings from guests and good write-ups at the travel sites. The complex is dotted with buffets and restaurants, with cuisines from around the world. The disco is designed to emulate a DC6 airplane, with the nose acting as the DJ booth and the wings serving as the bars. Many visitors claim the Iberostar Bavaro has the best beach in the country, with flawless white sand and bright, turquoise waters. The individual villas are ensconced in lagoons with gardens overflowing with tropical flowers and palms. There are nine restaurants and a cozy casino, to boot.
